The Nutrition Decision That Saved This Triathlete

I wrote this email out to my sister and thought I would just copy paste it for a new post. I don’t just sell this product, I believe in it and I believe that healthy living is possible for each and every one of you!

I was surprised to hear that you guys were not yet on Juice-Plus. I contacted Coleman (My nephew) to see if he was on it or any other multivitamin and he said he puts a handful of spinach in his smoothie. I chuckled, because I too do this, but there comes a time we need more than spinach and the occasional other fruit and veggie. In fact, it is recommended that we consume 7 to 13 servings of fruits and vegetables daily and these vegetables shouldn't always be a clump of spinach. Our bodies simply need more than what the typical grocery visit tends to provide. (Juice-plus has 13 different fruits and veggies in each serving!)

That's why I started shopping around and trying different multivitamins. I hopped from performance based ones designed for endurance athletes to all natural multivitamins with nutrients derived from fruits and vegetables. With all of them I noticed one common factor that presented itself in 3 ways- my body was not able to recognize all the nutrients it was being introduced to. The body is used to and designed to consume whole fruits and vegetables, not isolated nutrients from this fruit and that vegetable. Therefore, I knew my body wasn't getting what it needed because of three obvious presentations. First, I craved food, all the time. I didn't just crave food like the normal person. I craved an entire pizza or a triple stacked burger. It was outrageous! Second, my energy level was off kilter, it fluctuated back and forth and my focus was hit or miss through out the day. Third, my urine changed to a highlighter yellow color. Despite what you read, NONE OF THIS IS NOT NATURAL!

So, I finally gave in and gave Julie a call. She set me up with a Juice-Plus account and I decided to give it a 4-month try. So for 44.50 a month Jess and I started taking the Fruit and Vegetable capsules. She now takes them in place of her breastfeeding prenatal for the same reasons I stated above. Not only did I stop feeling the ephemeral energy deficits and a decrease in unhealthy cravings after training, but my focus was sharpened throughout the day. Other things began to become apparent with time too. I was craving different types of food and more hydration. When I got hungry my mind raced about a big salad or a mix of almonds and pumpkin seeds. I could spend much much more time touching on the improvements in training too. But i'll keep in simple by saying that my muscles recovered much quicker, I maintained pace much better and my motivation towards training has improved. 

With that, I must note that I do not think it is all due to Juice-Plus. I also believe that my increase in personal time with God, my mindfulness and yoga practice and setting up a clear training plan has also helped. But, the right nutrition is defiantly an important pillar to the trifuncta of Mind(mindfulness and yoga), Body (Nutrition) and Spirit (connection with God and others)!
